As the weather continues to warm up, the world slowly comes out of its hibernation and steps into the sun. Everyone seems to be in a better mood and more sociable as they go about their day-to-day activities. Spring gives us a chance to revitalize our bodies as well as our social life. Plus with Day Light Saving adding more sunny hours to the day, there is more time to do super fun activities!
If you’re still one of the lucky ones that get to enjoy a Spring Break, do not take it for granted! It’s your chance to travel somewhere exotic and fun. Beaches are always a popular destination during this time; however, mountainous regions like Colorado, Washington, and Oregon have become somewhat of a trendy place to visit for the more adventurous types. Whether you’re partying on the beach or hiking trails in the temperate forests with the thoughts of craft breweries dancing in your head, make sure you make the most it! Even if you don’t get a week off of your work duties, you still can set some time aside and make a mini Spring Break trip of your own.
Each spring arrives with a resurgence of energy which makes a perfect opportunity to set up a recreational sports group. Create an outdoor volleyball or basketball tournament, get friends together for some tennis or golf, or even plan a running or bicycling routine. Athletic activities build strong camaraderie and also increase those ever-loving endorphins that make us high on life. Mix that with some sun and you’ve got a recipe for nirvana.
Don’t forget you’re not the only one that wants to enjoy the warm weather. Spend some time outside with your furry best-friend. Take them to a dog park or set up a play date with one of your friend’s dogs. You can even make it a weekly thing. Your dog will be shedding his or her winter coat and will be ready to get out and let loose.
Of course, spring isn’t all about staying active; it’s a time to relax and unwind too. After all, it’s the start of patio season! Take a load off after work and enjoy happy hour on the patio of your favorite drinking spot. Getting together with some friends over a glass of wine or cold beer and laughing about all the ridiculously mundane drama through the week is a great detox for the soul.
And perhaps the best part of spring is the start of outdoor concerts, Farmer’s Markets, flea markets, and small business sidewalks sales! There’s just something about being outdoors that makes shopping more fun. Plus, you’ll be supporting the local business owners and immersing yourself in the community atmosphere. With the Friendlynk “Events” feature, you’ll be able to keep track of local events going on in your area so you’ll never have to miss out on any of the fun.
So however you end up spending the following months leading up to summer, make sure you take advantage of the moment. Each day is an opportunity to have fun and make unforgettable memories. Let’s change “I don’t have the time” to “See you there!” You only have one life to live—so live it well!
