It’s the biggest sports day in America! The Super Bowl is an event that brings together sports fans –and those who think a homerun is a touch down— for a night of social fun! With good sports, great friends—and of course— boozy beverages, there are many ways to celebrate the big game; however, if you’re in Houston or are planning on making the pilgrimage, here are some fun ideas that’ll give you and your friends the most awesome and unforgettable memories.
#1 Taking a picture with the Super Bowl clock is an easy check off on your Super Bowl weekend bucket list. Make it a selfie or get one with the entire squad and capture the moment.
#2 If you’re a sucker for a good cause for our furry brethren, then the “Players and Pets Blackout Celebrity Party” is a great attraction for you. Players and celebrities team up with local animal charities to help homeless pets find a home. The event is Friday February 3rd from 4pm-8pm with general admission tickets for sale at $25 and VIP passes starting at $60 (table and bottle services are available as well.)
#3 Midtown Houston will be hosting SUPER Weekend Block Party, a three day live concert supporting Midtown Parks Conservancy. The event will last from 4pm-8pm starting on the Thursday and ending Saturday night. This event is free and will have a variety of fun lawn games—including mega beer pong—with lots of food and drinks available. Don’t hesitate to take advantage of this opportunity to relax and have fun with your friends before the big game.
#4 Club Nomadic is a new mega night club that orchestrated its grand opening for the nights leading to Super Bowl Sunday. The club will be featuring Sam Hunt and The Chainsmokers on Thursday night (doors opening at 7pm) and Bruno Mars on Friday (doors open at 8:30pm). The venue is expecting around 9,000 guests each night. However, there isn’t any parking onsite so guests are highly encouraged to plan transportation. Friends and Ubers make great morning after stories anyways!
#5 Thrill seekers must check out “Future Flight,” the 90ft drop tower ride that virtually takes you to Mars and back presented at The NFL Experience at Discovery Green Park. For $35 a ticket, you and your friends can enjoy making memories as you explore the interactive theme park.
#6 What is the Super Bowl without the anticipated Budweiser commercials?! The Budweiser Brewery Experience in Houston will be showcasing their famous Clydesdales all weekend up to the Super Bowl. How awesome would it be to have one of Budweiser’s mascots in your Facebook profile picture? The photo op will take place Thursday and Friday from 11am to 12pm and 3pm-4pm (except on Friday). In the meantime, you’ll get to explore and learn about the great American beer of Anheuser-Bush!
#7& #8 The Square at Memorial City Mall will be hosting several events through the weekend including Super Star Saturday which consists of the largest Mannequin Challenge in Houston, fun activities, and live music. Following that is The Ultimate Big Game Watch Party which starts at 3pm on Super Bowl Sunday. Watch the game on a 24ft by 14ft high definition big screen with friends in a highly social atmosphere. There will also be activities and refreshments for purchase.
